Three captive insurance companies--two in Dublin and one in South Carolina--are the heart of The Coca-Cola Co.'s strategy to retain very high levels of risk.

Those captives are:

* Coca-Cola Reinsurance Services Ltd. Licensed in 1992 in Dublin, CCRSL reinsures commercial insurers that front policies, as well as sister Dublin captive Red Disk Insurance Co. Ltd.

Among other things, CCRSL reinsures property risks on policies Red Disk writes directly. It also reinsures property risks on policies issued by fronting insurer ACE USA in other countries.
