20 die in head-on collision in Egypt.(News)

Twenty Egyptians have been killed and one injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a minibus in the southern province of Minyay. The minibus driver was trying to overtake the truck and crashed into an on-coming truck.

'Genocide tribunal must find Rwandan fugitives'

The achievements of the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda would be undermined if 18 fugitives wanted for crimes against humanity were not found, the court's chief prosecutor has said. Among them is Felicien Kabuga, alleged to have financed genocide and thought to be hiding in Kenya.

Sudanese President Omar al-Beshir has named rebel leader Minni Arku Minnawi as head of a transitional authority in Darfur. Minnawi's Sudan Liberation Movement signed a peace agreement with Khartoum, ending the devastating civil war.

Zimbabwe's ruling party has not yet decided whether to amend the country's constitution to allow President Robert Mugabe a further two years in power. Mugabe is expected to step down when his term expires in 2008.

Zimbabwe is to remove judicial officers from ministerial control and place them under the judicial services commission, Harare's Herald newspaper has reported.
