Fed: Lanslide by any definition

Political commenators say there are few election landslides which compare to the avalanche
which swept across Queensland on Saturday.

ABC election analyst ANTHONY GREEN has told ABC Radio it's the most stunning rejection
of the Liberal and National Parties since the Second World War when CURTIN won his first
majority.

He says the Labor Party has swept the entire urban areas of the south-east of the state,
winning seats on the Gold and Sunshine Coasts it has never held before.

Mr GREEN says the Liberal party has been wiped out.

Labor appears likely to hold at least 62 of Queensland's 89 parliamentary seats, with
a swing of more than 10 per cent.

National representation of 23 has been halved, while just two Liberals retained their seats.
