Vic: Servos bearing the brunt of soaring fuel prices, thefts

Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce (VACC) statistics outlining what fuel theft
costs retailers and who gets what portion of the price of petrol:

* 60 Litres of petrol at 143.9 cents per litre = $86.34

* Service station gross profit margin four cents per litre = $2.40 (when 60-litre tank is filled)

* To recover a loss of $86.34, 36 additional sales must be made.

* 36 x $86.34 equals $3,108 value of sale to return to break even, not profit.

* $3,108 x two to return to the point where a profit could be made = $6,216, or 72 sales later.
